About Me & My Church

Messiah Lutheran Church is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod of churches.  We are located at 300 Buckland Road in South Windsor, CT.  We hold worship services every Sunday at 9:00 AM followed by Sunday School and Bible Class.

At Messiah, you can experience a broad range of worship styles through musical variety.  We typically use a traditional, liturgical approach to worship and sing hymns accompanied by the organ on most Sundays.  On the second Sunday of the month, we host a “blended” worship service with contemporary music.  Communion is served on the first and third Sunday’s of each month.

I am Steve Brown, the Worship Coordinator; a volunteer Lay position.  I am interested in anything worship related; play guitar and enjoy singing.  Contemporary Christian music is a passion of mine.  I have been playing guitar for 38 years and took lessons for the first five years; beyond that I am self-taught.  You can reach me at:

I am different but I understand that everything I am and everything I have comes from God.  It’s His gift, it is by His grace and it’s because He loves me not because I’ve done any fantastic job of loving Him.

Our Pastor is Timothy Ehlers.

The views and opinions expressed on this website are my own and are not necessarily the views of either the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod or of Messiah Lutheran Church, or of our Pastor.

As men, women, and children united in faith and worship by the Word of God, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod exists to make disciples throughout the world for time and eternity, using the gospel to win the lost for Christ and to nurture believers for lives of Christian service, all to the glory of God.

  6. Great website! Please consider listing my website as a resource for those planning worship. I am a retired United Methodist minister offering, without charge, professionally designed worship images. I noticed you used one of the images from the Gallery on our website. Please see http://www.churchpowerpoint.com. Could you let me know if/when/where you are providing a link? Thank you. Dorothy Okray

    spurgeon and lewis quotes ?

When did they convert and become confessional lutheran in their understanding of the bible?

when did we use up all our genuine lutheran quotes that now we have to resort to the likes of them?

    spurgeon / lewis
their confession was so different I wont like my lutheran pastor quoting them .And i just may object openly and loudly in the service if he tries.

Oh, thank you! I was so surprised (and thrilled) to see a Wels blog on “blended” worship. I’m the Music Director at our Wels church, Bloomington Living Hope out of Bloomington/Shakopee, MN. We use what we call “blended” worship as well. Came upon your blog as I was trying to come up with Epiphany ideas. Thanks for the reminder about “Offering” by Paul Baloche…. :)
