More on Choosing Music
Choosing music is one of the most important areas in worship planning and I consider myself blessed to be given the opportunity to help out whenever asked to do so.
Think about it this way, you are putting vital words into other people’s mouths and onto their hearts.
- Words that they otherwise might not have thought to say.
- Words that will be used in worship, in praise, in exaltation and in prayer to their Lord.
- Words that people will use to interact with God and words that they hopefully will remember into the week.
- Words that with the Holy Spirit’s involvement; can change lives. Words are important to God. In fact, Jesus is referred to as the Word in John 1:1.
Words are important to God. In fact, Jesus is referred to as the Word in John 1:1.
The entire universe was created with just a word. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command. – Hebrews 11:3
God reveals himself to us, and still speaks to us today through his words. The LORD continued to appear at Shiloh, and there he revealed himself to Samuel through his word. – 1 Samuel 3:21
Jesus used words to accomplish miracles. When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. Matthew 8:16
There are very few other occasions in life where something like this happens. It is an incredible role and requires your very best prayerful efforts. It is not a job to be taken lightly. Choose your music carefully.
