Whatever you do …

Whatever You Do …

Whatever you do … Isn’t that a curious phrase!  What doesn’t it include?  Sleeping, eating, watching TV, working, playing video games; I would argue that it includes everything.

The phrase is used 5 times in scripture.  There is wisdom in these phrases:

Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. – Proverbs 16:3

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. – 1 Corinthians 10:31

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, – Colossians 3:23

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. – Colossians 3:17

Conclusion – We are to commit everything that we do to the LORD, to do it all to His glory; as if we are working for the Lord and we are to do so in the name of the Lord Jesus giving thanks to God the Father through Him.  Gives new meaning to our menial desk jobs or housework doesn’t it?
