Give of Yourself
I believe that we do not do a very good job of sharing the worship ministry with fellow believers. At worse, it’s sometimes just the Pastor and the organist – period.
Everyone should be involved.
You should be involved.
The “church” is not a building. People are the church. You are part of the church. You are part of the body of Christ. And…
You have Christ
But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. (Romans 8:10)
You have the Holy Spirit
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; (1 Corinthians 6:19)
You have the word of God
This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. (1 Corinthians 2:13)
You have spiritual gifts
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. (1 Peter 4:10)
You are a new creation in Christ
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! (2 Corinthians 5:17)
You are a spring of water
but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life. (John 4:14; 7:38).
This is not a matter of personality.
Not a matter of reverence.
Not a matter of style.
Not a matter of age.
Not a matter of talent.
Not a matter of decorum.
Not a matter of doctrine.
Not a matter of traditions.
This is a matter of faith.
Trust Him, and give of yourself.
Your congregation will benefit.
God’s kingdom will benefit.
You will benefit.
It is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35)
