A Place

A Place
By Bob Brown

The wind rustles the autumn leaves
The woods are quiet, sincere
The pond before me is highly reflective
I sense God’s presence here

I need a place where there are no deadlines
No computers, no smart phones
No hustle-bustle, no committee meetings
A place where I am alone

Like Elijah, there by the water brook
Like Moses, on mountains high
Like John the Baptist in the wilderness
I need to sense God, nigh

I’m not alive in a concrete world
Where I’m efficient, punctual, smart
I need adventure, not procedure
I need a place to find my heart

The above poem was written by Bobby Brown, author of ”Seated Above Looking Below.”
